Endeavour at the Tall Ships

Northern Breezes Sailing Schools Duluth branch is located in the exciting twin ports of the Duluth Superior Harbor. We offer American Sailing Association (ASA) classes for Basic Keelboat (ASA 101), Basic Coastal Cruising (ASA 103), Bareboat Charter (ASA 104) and Advanced Coastal Cruising (ASA 106) certification. Over winter we also offer Coastal Navigation (ASA105). All of our classes are conducted out of Barkers Island Marina located minutes from beautiful downtown Duluth in Superior, Wisconsin.

Duluth Tall Ships

2013 was a great year for us and included a broad spectrum of activities from our normal ASA classes to fun flotillas and exciting offshore racing! We plan on having more fun again in 2014 with some new class offerings as well as more advanced sailing options for the more adventurous and advanced sailors. We are also offering some new class times for those needing weekend and evening classes to fit their busy schedules!

One of the big changes for us this year will be a move to our new home at Barkers Island Marina. The move will allow for easier access by our students while still being close to downtown Duluth. There is also a resort at the Marina so students coming in from out of town for classes or to use the boat club can stay right at the marina if they wish.

We have another big season planned and will once again be offering classes for everyone from Basic Keelboat through to Bareboat Charter, as well as Advanced Coastal Cruising for the more adventurous sailors.

For the more laid back sailor or those just looking for some open water experience on the Great Lakes we offer flotilla's at the start and end of each season. To start off the season we run the Spring flotilla over the Memorial Day weekend travelling to Cornucopia with 4 other sailing vessels. After an overnight stop we part company two of the boats head to Knife River before the final leg back to Duluth while the others continue on to Bayfield. It's a fun and sometimes challenging sailing experience and a great way to start the sailing season whether you are an experienced sailor or not. More...
